Parkland Information
Walking Trails: The Big Loop Trail (0.75 miles) winds through open fields and along the shoreline of Cobscook Bay. This easy walking trail offers sweeping views across the bay and access to interpretive signs highlighting local plants, history, and traditional uses of wild herbs.
Bike Routes: Leighton Field connects to several quiet coastal roads that are ideal for cycling. Riders can explore the surrounding countryside and continue toward nearby Cobscook Shores parklands and scenic viewpoints overlooking the Pennamaquan River and Cobscook Bay.
Outdoor Education Program: Outdoor Education
Leighton Field is home to the Cobscook Shores Outdoor Education Bike Barn, which supports youth programs and community outdoor learning opportunities. The surrounding trails and open fields provide a welcoming space for exploring nature by bike or on foot while learning about the region’s plants, history, and coastal ecosystems.
